Computer not working? Computer running much slower than a week ago? Need help with selecting a new computer. Think you’ve been hacked? Or are you concerned about your aging parent’s computer (I work with seniors). Call me at 215-696-5574 during regular business hours and I can help. You should meet me locally or remotely and determine if I am the right person for the job. Once you trust me, I can help you or your parents through remote access. I can give you local references who you should call. Read my blog to get a feeling for what I do.
About Me
I am a retired Science teacher who taught in the Cheltenham School district for nearly 35 years. My last five years as a teacher, I also was in charge of computer repair. I switched over to computer repair and website design upon my retirement in 2003. Yes, that makes me over 75 years old. I now devote my mornings to helping people whose computers have stopped working correctly or who have gotten themselves in trouble through using the computer. Yes I could help you and or your aging parents too.
PC Desktop or PC Laptop Security Issues
Your computer will be backed up before security issues are addressed. If the computer is too compromised, a new reinstall of windows on a new hard drive may be advised. Depending on the age of the computer, a new computer may be advised.
Data Recovery
Computer won’t boot but you need the files on the drive. As long as the drive isn’t clicking I can probably recovery the files.
Backup Services
Working drives should be backed up in two different ways. First, backup the files. Then, backup the operating system. I can setup the software to do both. I can login remotely to start backups based on an agreed upon schedule.
PC Hacked
Freeze your credit at: https://www.usa.gov/credit-freeze. I will loan you a computer where you can safely freeze your assets before the cyber criminals do. This is done onsite and you must meet me
Reinstall windows
All data is backed up and hard drive is replaced with a new drive. Windows is reinstalled and updated. Drivers are then added. Programs are individually reinstalled and then your data is returned. Recommended only for computers under three years old.
Viruses & spyware removal
I recommend BitDefender and Malwarebytes working in combo to keep your computer from being infected. I will backup your computer before virus programs are installed
